Arts Centre in High Wycombe ?

Hi Everyone,
I'm passing this on, as WYSPAS are a member of this organisation. Please, if anyone is free on the 5th, lend them your support. A new arts space in High Wycombe has always been their long term goal, to replace the one that Bucks CC took away when they sold Spring Gardens to property developers.
Regards

Andy

Local Arts Forum
Feedback Meeting

WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 5TH ST JOHNS CHURCH HALL,
DESBOROUGH ROAD, HIGH WYCOMBE

STOP PRESS:
On the 16th August 2007 St Johns Church came on the market for sale. This imposing grade II listed building dates from about 1900 and is scheduled for redundancy as part of the reorganisation of the parish of High Wycombe St Birinus and St John .

SO NOW IT’S REALLY TIME FOR ACTION!

If you would like to see St Johns as a location for the local, professional and amateur arts and to provide facilities that meet the needs of the community, we need your views as soon as possible.

More importantly you need to attend the Local Arts Forum Feedback Meeting on the 5th September.

At this meeting Arts4Every1 will present the results of the Local Arts Forum held on 24th May 2007 as part of Wycombe Arts Festival and continue to discuss and develop a vision for the arts in Wycombe District.

Specifically we will focus on how St Johns could be used to meet the needs of the people of Wycombe District in the areas of performing arts, visual arts and community use.

Interesting Fact…
St Johns Church
was designed by W D Caroe (1857–1938). From the family architectural practice of Caroe & Partners, W D Caroe was one of the great figures of the Arts and Crafts Movement. The Arts & Crafts Movement existed in Great Britain between 1850-1915.

WYSPAS Magical Movie Memories

The Wycombe Society or the Performing Arts bring you yet another myriad of Magical Musical Memories in this variety show of song and dance.

Supporting the society in fund raising for their forth coming show at The Wycombe Swan, Amersham College’s Theatre on the Hill is hosting Wyspas in this myriad of numbers from the greatest of musical movies.

In their 67th year of performing, Wyspas take you back to the days when sound tracks were non-existent and cinema brought the glamour and glitz of the Hollywood classics to the masses.

Whether you prefer 70’s hit’s Grease and Saturday Night Fever or the musical classics 42nd Street and Singing in the Rain, Wyspas will be sure to stir up Musical Memories. They will even revive the child in you with melodies from the Jungle Book, Bugsy Malone and The Wizard of Oz.

Magical Movie Memories is being performed from the 18th – 21st April at The Theatre on the Hill, Amersham College. The curtains rise at 7.30pm, with an additional 4.00pm matinee on Saturday 21st. Tickets are prices at £10, with concessions available.

Please call the Wyspas box office on 07968 030 802 for tickets.

Our Musical Director is Marc Pizer, also new to this area but with good experience elsewhere.

Stage Manager and lighting are by Raymond Medhurst whom many of you will know.

We are heading for a good show which deserves full houses every night. Please support us as we have supported you in the past and will continue to do so in the future.

Court Garden Leisure Centre can be reached by going down Marlow High Street towards the river, then at the double mini roundabout turn right. Court Garden car park is the first turning on the left.

Fund Raising Evening for Iain Rennie Hospice

Hi,
I've organised a fund raising evening for Iain Rennie Hospice at home next Friday 9th March at Wycombe Heights golf club.7.30 - 12pm Tickets are £15.00 each and all profits go to Iain Rennie Hospice at home. The evening is a Casino and Disco evening of fun, dancing and prizes!
This amazing charity allows terminally ill people of any age to stay in their own homes rather than go into hospital or a hospice. All funds are vital to keep the specially trained nurses doing their unenviable job!
Please let me know if you would like to come along and support IRHH and have a great evening.
Thanks
Lallie
