"Oliver" Production to raise funds for the NSPCC
Wycombe Society for the Performing Arts (WYSPAS) are presenting a production of Lionel Barts musical "Oliver" at the Wycombe Swan theatre in May, raising funds for the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC).
The NSPCC is the UK's leading charity specialising in child protection and the prevention of cruelty to children. The NSPCC operates 180 projects and services - many of these are managed directly by the NSPCC, many others are implemented in partnership with other organisations and agencies. The NSPCC's vision is of a society where all children are loved, valued and able to fulfil their potential. We seek to achieve cultural, social and political change - influencing legislation, policy, practice, attitudes and behaviours for the benefit of children and young people.
WYSPAS, who recently appointed the NSPCC as their chosen charity, have close links with children boasting no less than 32 talented local children within the cast of "Oliver". Throughout the show week collections will be made at the theatre and all money raised will be donated to the NSPCC.
NSPCC Community Appeals Manager, Jane Harries said, "We are really grateful to WYSPAS for nominating us as their chosen charity for raising funds. The NSPCC depends on voluntary income to continue its vital work across the country, maintaining the level of service offered to local children and young people who have suffered abuse".
