Book and lyrics by Howard Ashman : Music by Alan Menken Based on the film by Roger Corman

For years now Little Shop of Horrors has made audiences scream with laughter. In this gleefully gruesome musical Seymour, a poor florist's assistant, allows his craving for fame and fortune to seduce him into playing nursemaid to a man-eating plant.

Starring Gareth Thomas as Seymour, Kerry Magee as Audrey, Roy Taylor as Mushnik, Mark Bolkonsky as Orin Scrivello, DDS and Andy Leonard as the voice of Audrey II, LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS features book and lyrics by the late Howard Ashman and music by Alan Menken (The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin) and includes such well-known musical numbers as "Somewhere That's Green", "Suddenly Seymour" as well as the title song. Between bites, the carnivorous Audrey II, named after Seymour's secret love, brings down the house singing rhythm and blues à la Otis Reading or James Brown!

LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS is the story of Seymour Krelbourn, a meek Skid Row florist who makes a Faustian pact with a tiny plant in order to win the heart of Audrey, the girl he loves. While Audrey doesn’t notice the romance blooming between them, she does recognize the money-making potential of the exotic little plant. Soon money pours in and Seymour becomes a celebrity, but behind the glamour and fame lies a secret Seymour can't reveal--this strange and unusual plant's favourite food is ..blood. The tale is punctuated by musical commentary delivered expertly by The Ronnettes, a Supremes-style sex-tet. They bounce around the flower shop and its inner-city neighbourhood with messages of hope and warning. As the plant grows, its demands for food grow too, and Seymour starts to suspect that the plant might have an agenda larger than light and soil.............
